Ollie – At A Glance

We cherish our dogs as part of the family, but do we put as much thought into their meals as we do our own? Ollie, a premium subscription-based dog food brand, aims to transform the way our furry friends eat. The company claims benefits like better weight management, a longer life, and improved digestion—boasting that 90% of its customers notice positive changes in their dogs, including increased energy, better digestion, and improved allergy and weight control.

Recipes

One of the most fascinating aspects of Ollie is its data-driven approach. The brand collaborates with experts in pet health, food science, and veterinary nutrition to develop its recipes. Additionally, Ollie continuously refines its formulations based on pet owner feedback and diagnostic data from hundreds of thousands of dogs. This means Ollie’s meals evolve over time, incorporating insights on everything from digestion and weight management to dental health and coat condition.

Ollie provides five fresh recipes—pork, beef, chicken, lamb, and turkey—along with two baked options: chicken and beef. Each protein is combined with a mix of vegetables, vitamins, and minerals. The detailed nutrition analysis and ingredient list for each recipe are available, with many including liver, butternut squash, rice, and other fiber-rich ingredients.

How it works?

To begin, new customers fill out a short questionnaire with details about their dog’s weight, activity level, and spay/neuter status. Based on this information, Ollie suggests one of three meal plans. After selecting a plan, you can choose from a variety of recipes, making the process feel similar to customizing a meal kit for humans.

Serving Ollie’s fresh food gives you the satisfaction of knowing you’re providing your dog with nutritious, whole-food ingredients, including plenty of vegetables. However, it does require a bit more planning than traditional feeding, as the food needs to be thawed in advance. Additionally, if you travel frequently, keep in mind that once thawed, the meals should be consumed within four days.

Pricing

After the initial box promotion, the cost of Ollie’s fresh meal plan for a 65-pound puppy is $78 per delivery. A mixed plan comes to $65, while the half-fresh option is $45.50. With Ollie, you’re choosing premium proteins like chicken, turkey, and lamb – an investment in your dog’s long-term health and well-being.

Once you’re subscribed to regular deliveries, you can customize your order by adding extras to support your pet’s diet. Ollie offers jerky, dental chews, and other treats, along with supplements designed for gut health, skin and coat care, and anxiety relief.

Shipping

Ollie delivers freshly prepared meals on a set schedule based on your selected meal plan. Since a transition period is recommended, you might have some leftover food between your first and second deliveries. You can easily manage and adjust future shipments through your account page.

Unopened fresh food packs stored in the freezer remain fresh for up to six months. Once transferred to the refrigerator, they should be used within four days. To maintain freshness, store the packs in your Ollie Puptainer. If any packs arrive thawed or partially thawed, place them in the refrigerator immediately and use them within four days. If the food is no longer cold to the touch, it’s best to discard it and contact the customer support team for assistance. For optimal freshness, consume baked goods within six weeks after opening.
